Collection: Indian Arabicum Seeds

Black skin arabicum is the arabicum every serious caudex grower ends up chasing. The draw is the epidermis — a deep charcoal-to-near-black bark that darkens further with age and sun, wrapped around the fat, swollen base that makes arabicum the workhorse of the Adenium world. These seeds come from a specialist grower in India I've sourced from directly, selected specifically for dark skin expression and heavy caudex development.

I sell these as seed, not finished plants, on purpose. Growing arabicum from seed is where you get the fastest, fattest caudex — a seed-grown arabicum will out-bulk a cutting-grown plant every time, because the taproot swells from day one. That's the whole point of the genus, and it's why I start nearly everything from seed in my own Zone 6 operation.

A few things I want you to know before you buy. Skin color is genetic and environmental — the black expression deepens with strong light and maturity, so a young seedling won't look like the parent overnight. Give it a season or two and full sun. Germination is fast when the seed is fresh and the media is right: I run bottom heat around 85–90°F, a gritty inorganic-heavy mix, and bright light the moment they crack. Expect radicles in 3–7 days from a healthy, fresh batch.

Everything in this collection ships fresh from recent harvests. I don't sit on seed — arabicum viability drops the longer it's stored, so I move it while it germinates well.
