Chada Tung Nang ("Golden Skirt Crown") trades the bulky muscle look of lines like Hulk or Godji King Kong for elegant, sweeping architectural symmetry. A wide, flared, flat-bottomed caudex sends branches curving gracefully upward in a tiered profile that echoes a traditional Thai crown — a true formal bonsai masterpiece lineage.

FULL PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Adenium arabicum 'Chada Tung Nang' (also seen as Chada Tong Nang, Chadatung, or Chada Tung Tang) is a premium Thai hybrid revered for graceful, high-class canopy presentation rather than raw bulk or dark pigmentation.

The "Golden Skirt" Silhouette
The name describes exactly what the plant does. A wide, flared, flat-bottomed caudex sends primary branches sweeping outward before curving elegantly upward, creating a tiered profile that resembles a traditional Thai crown or a flowing skirt.

Impeccable Branch Tapering
This line's standout trait is the grace of its wood. Branches emerge thick from the wide caudex shoulders but taper down smoothly and evenly to the terminal tips — clean, elongated, controlled proportions rather than the blocky stubbiness of hyper-dwarf lines.

Pristine Silvery-Gold Bark
Bark matures into a smooth, reflective silvery-gray with golden-tan to light bronze highlights under full sun. The clean, light wood accentuates the dramatic shadows cast by the cascading branch structure.

Foliage Configuration
Large, thick, slightly obovate, vibrant emerald-green leaves cluster in tight, neat whorls right at the branch tips — keeping the inner "skirt" structure bare and visible for maximum artistic contrast.

Flowers
Delicate pale-pink to light-crimson single trumpet flowers during seasonal flushes, true to classic form-focused arabicum heritage.

Zone 6 Notes
This is the line I reach for when I want a formal exhibition-style specimen rather than a brute structural one — it pushes multiple primary branches simultaneously around the entire crown perimeter, so a balanced 360-degree canopy comes together with almost no corrective wiring. It's also one of my favorites for radial root spreading: lift the roots over a disc and they echo the same sweeping outward trajectory as the branches above, tying the whole silhouette together top to bottom. Intense, high-heat full sun outside after May 15 is what keeps the bark on that golden-silver tone and the branch sweeps tight rather than stretched and leggy. Lean, fast-draining gritty substrate year-round. Indoors before first hard frost in mid-October, standard arabicum dormancy through winter.
