Ara Dork Dok ("Abundant Flowers") breaks the mold of most premium arabicum lines. Where structural cultivars push occasional light blooms, this one is engineered to combine a heavy-set arabicum physique with the relentless, explosive flowering capacity of an obesum — entire canopies can disappear under tight clusters of pink-to-crimson blooms at peak flush.

FULL PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Adenium arabicum 'Ara Dork Dok' (also referenced as Wang Dork Dok, or its hyper-floriferous upgrade Super Dork Dok / SDD) is a unique Thai hybrid that doesn't ask you to choose between structure and flowers — it delivers both.

Explosive Flowering Capacity
This is the defining trait. Where a typical arabicum produces occasional light flushes, Ara Dork Dok can completely cover its upper canopy in tight clusters of single trumpet-shaped pink to light-crimson flowers, often hiding the foliage entirely during a peak bloom.

The "Big Roots" Phenotype
Beneath that floral display sits a genetically aggressive, dense, intricate root system. This line is a favorite for "Big Roots" style training, where primary roots are exposed, lifted, and styled into an imposing, multi-legged structure.

Broad, Multi-Trunk Base
Structurally, it holds onto real arabicum character — a wide, blocky, heavily rippled caudex on a semi-dwarf, short profile. The heavy mass of flowers sits right above a stout, powerful wood foundation rather than on top of a tall, thin trunk.

Clean Silvery-Green Epidermis
Light silvery-green to pale bronze bark provides a clean, neutral backdrop that makes the pink canopy pop with maximum contrast at bloom time.

Foliage
Vibrant green, broad, slightly glossy leaves push aggressively during vegetative cycles, giving the plant a dense, lush look between flowering flushes.

Ara Dork Dok carries genuine hybrid vigor — seedlings show early structural thickness and rapid leaf accumulation, and can push their first bloom cycle in as little as 8–10 months from sowing, well ahead of most slow-maturing arabicum lines.

Zone 6 Notes
This is the one line in my collection I actually bump up the potassium and phosphorus on during the growing season — pushing continuous flower clusters while building a heavy root base takes real energy, and it shows if the nutrition isn't there. I grow it in a wide, shallow container with a fast-draining, structural mix heavy on pumice and akadama, which supports the aggressive root flare without rot risk. Full sun outside after May 15, indoors before first hard frost in mid-October, then standard arabicum dormancy through winter. If you're chasing the "Big Roots" look, start exposing and lifting the root crown early — this line responds well to that training from a young age.
