'Amara' — sometimes sold as Amara's Sunset or Amara Delight — is a Plumeria rubra selection grown for that classic sunset look: a golden-yellow to orange-gold core that bleeds outward into peach, salmon, and bright magenta-pink margins. The petals are broad and finish in fluted, wavy edges, so a full flower head reads with real texture and a slight starburst in dense clusters. Blooms run 3 to 3.5 inches, and like most sunset-type hybrids the outer edges deepen — more orange, more magenta, more red — under peak summer heat and strong UV. Cooler weather softens it back toward yellow-pink. The fragrance is a medium-to-strong sweet floral with citrus-blossom and warm peach notes.

Now the part I always tell seed buyers straight: these are seeds, not cuttings. • Light: Full sun once up — 6–8+ hours direct, or strong grow lights indoors. Light drives pigment saturation, heavy bloom, and rigid stems.
• Substrate: Extremely fast-draining. Plumeria rot from the roots up in heavy, wet soil (Phytophthora/Pythium). Add grit.
• Water: Dry-out cycles between waterings in active growth. No water through winter dormancy while leafless.
• Hardiness: Tropical, USDA 10–12 in ground. Colder than that, grow in containers and overwinter dormant indoors. Below 40°F damages soft tips; a freeze is fatal.
