'Black Jack' is one of the rarer cultivars I carry — an exceptionally dark, solid charcoal-to-jet-black velvet coloration across both the outer and inner petals, closer to true black than any other Adenium in the lineup. The core reveals a subtle glimpse of dark maroon-red and white striations deep within the throat, which is the only real color break in the bloom and provides a sharp contrast against all that black.
Flower form is multi-petaled — double to triple — with distinctly wavy, crimped petal margins that build a textured, ruffled rosette silhouette rather than a smooth, flat one. That texture is part of what makes this cultivar read as dramatic in person, not just dark.
Foliage is smooth, bright green, which is important here — it's what keeps the near-black bloom from disappearing against the plant. Growth habit is standard obesum: a solid, swollen caudex base with strong, upright branching.
Zone 6 note: Grown and cold-acclimated here in Northern Kentucky, not held under constant greenhouse warmth, so it's already adjusted to real seasonal temperature swings before it ships. Bring indoors ahead of first frost and hold water through winter dormancy regardless of what zone you're growing in.
