Adenium obesum 'American Glory' Seeds
'American Glory' is one of the brighter, sunnier cultivars I carry — rich buttery-yellow to warm golden hues at the center, softening out to cream-yellow along the petal tips. True yellow is still uncommon in the obesum world, so this one gets noticed fast against a bench full of reds, pinks, and plums.
What makes it worth growing:
- Buttery-yellow to golden center transitioning to soft cream-yellow tips — a genuine warm-yellow profile, not a pale washout
- Multi-petaled double/triple form with slightly pointed, star-like outer petals and a tightly layered central whorl
- Bright-to-medium green foliage that makes the yellow tones stand out rather than compete
- Standard obesum development as it matures — thick caudex base, upright branching
Zone 6 growing notes: I run the same germination protocol on this one as I do across the whole obesum seed line here in Northern Kentucky — warm media, consistent moisture through germination, then strong heat and light through the growing season to build the caudex and push toward first bloom. Yellow and light-toned varieties tend to be less forgiving under weak light than the darker cultivars, so don't shortchange it once it's established. I start mine in Desert Oasis Germination Media for the even moisture control in those first few weeks.

- Color: Buttery-yellow to golden center, cream-yellow petal tips
