It's a staple line in high-end Thai breeding programs because it passes down its compact habit, heavy branching, and dark skin reliably — frequently crossed with Choco, Black Knight, and Godji to push toward even darker skin and hyper-dwarf form in later generations.

The Black Epidermis
Seedlings start out green to bronzed. The signature dark bark only develops as the plant matures, and it's heat- and sun-dependent — full, unfiltered exposure is what drives the bark from bronze toward deep purple-brown to near-black.

Caudex and Form
True to its arabicum roots, Black KHZ builds a wide, low, squat caudex early — growing outward before it grows up. It establishes a solid, "muscular" base rather than a tall central trunk.
