Adenium arabicum 'Riza' — Multi-Trunk Architectural Thai Hybrid Seeds

Riza is a modern Thai hybrid bred for structure rather than color. Where lines like Black KHZ chase dark pigmentation, Riza is engineered for explosive root development and massive, multi-trunk caudex formation — built specifically to produce competition-style bonsai form straight from seed.
FULL PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Adenium arabicum 'Riza' has gained serious traction with rare caudiciform collectors and bonsai enthusiasts for one reason: it consistently delivers architectural symmetry that other arabicum lines need years of training to approximate.
Massive, Multi-Trunk Caudex
Rather than developing a single central trunk, Riza naturally pushes out multiple thick, muscular trunk bases that fuse into one broad, low-profile foot. It's one of the few lines that builds true multi-trunk character without grafting or aggressive intervention.
Symmetrical Radial Branching
Riza's hallmark trait is clean, even branching that emerges directly from the top of the caudex — strong, upright, evenly spaced. Most specimens reach a balanced canopy with minimal pruning or wiring.
Advanced Root Architecture
For growers who practice root training — lifting the plant or spreading roots over a disc — Riza is a favorite. It's genetically inclined toward dense, heavy, symmetrical radial root networks that look striking once exposed.
Foliage and Bark
Leaves are large, broad, and leathery in a rich green. Bark runs silvery-gray to light bronze — a clean, classic look that contrasts against the canopy rather than competing with it.
Flowers
Standard pink to light-red single trumpet blooms, a reliable bloomer. The plant's physique is still the main event here.
Grown from seed, Riza throws an unusually high percentage of seedlings that inherit the squat, heavily branched, thick-rooted phenotype — better odds than most arabicum hybrids for hitting the look you're after.
Zone 6 Notes
I push these hard in full sun once they're outside after May 15 — Riza wants maximum heat and light to drive the trunk and root vigor that makes the line worth growing. Unlike the dark-skin lines I keep on the drier side, Riza actually rewards aggressive watering during peak summer growth — that's when the caudex and root mass put on real size. Pot in a highly porous, gritty mix (Desert Oasis Potting Media works well here) so the aggressive watering doesn't sit and rot the root zone. Bring indoors before first hard frost in mid-October and pull back to standard arabicum winter dormancy — dry, cool, minimal water until spring growth resumes. If you're root training, this is the line to start lifting or disc-spreading on once the trunk base is established.
