The Saigon Collection

Twenty Vietnamese Adenium seed lines. One new chapter for American Adenium.

American Adenium is preparing to introduce the Saigon Collection: a curated group of 20 Adenium seed lines sourced directly from Teddy at Saigon Adenium in Vietnam. Selected for exceptional color, multilayer flower form, dramatic patterning and distinctive parent genetics, this collection expands our seed catalog in a direction unlike anything we have offered before.

Coming Soon

The first release will feature a focused selection from the Founding 20, followed by a second release. Quantities will be intentionally limited. Each seed line begins with a documented Saigon Adenium mother plant and a small American Adenium retail allocation.

What Makes the Saigon Collection Different?

These parent plants represent a remarkable range of Adenium flower characteristics: deep burgundy and purple tones, cream and red broken-color patterns, yellow and gold backgrounds, highly layered flowers, unusual markings and color-changing selections.

Rather than treating them as simply more Adenium obesum seed, we are building the Saigon Collection as a distinct group of Vietnamese genetics within American Adenium.

The Founding 20

The collection includes Mãnh Long, Vân Hương, Phương Lam 23, TQC11, Adriana, Purple Explosion, Phạm Duy, Temptation (T10), Đào Vĩnh Kỳ, Genius, Mộng Cầm, Lý Thái Tổ, Ngọc Định, Twelve, Khánh Chi Mutation, Blood Diamond, Mắt Biếc, Lệ Nga, Double Dragon (Giáng Long), and Gold Master.

Grown From Seed: An Important Note

The photographs associated with the Saigon Collection show the documented parent plants and are provided as breeding references. Adenium grown from seed can vary. Seedlings should not be expected or represented as exact reproductions of the pictured parent flower. That genetic variation is also part of the appeal of growing Adenium from seed: each seedling is an individual.

From Seed to American-Grown Seedling

American Adenium is retaining part of every Saigon seed line for our own seedling-production program. This allows us to evaluate germination, growth habit, caudex development and, eventually, flowering characteristics under our growing system. Over time, selected Saigon seedlings will become part of our American-grown plant offerings.

The Saigon Collection will be offered in our established 5-seed and 10-seed pack format. No launch discounting is planned. Our focus is fresh seed, documented parentage, careful handling and giving growers access to genetics we believe deserve a place in serious Adenium collections.
