Adenium Arabicum 'Omega'

Adenium Arabicum 'Omega'

Adenium Arabicum 'Omega'
Bred for an exceptionally fat, spherical-to-low-domed caudex with thick primary
branches that taper fast. The effect is that even a young, seed-grown plant reads as
aged and tree-like well ahead of schedule — this is a caudex-scale genetic more than
anything else, and it's one of the more visually dramatic seedlings in this release within
the first year or two.

Growing it in Zone 6b: Germinate in Desert Oasis Germination Media, heat mat
underneath, soil temps mid-80s — expect germination within a week for most seed in
this batch. Omega puts a disproportionate amount of early energy into caudex width
rather than top growth, so don't be concerned if the seedling looks slow above the soil
line in the first couple months; that's the plant building the base the genetics are
actually selected for. Strong light matters here, but not for pigment the way it does with Black MKMK or Yakdum — it's about keeping growth compact so the caudex-to-branch ratio stays
proportional. Weak light stretches the stem and works against the "aged, tree-like
scale" this line is known for. I keep mine close to full-spectrum LEDs from the first true
leaves onward. Water on a normal schedule through active growth, then taper for a cool, dry winter dormancy — like most arabicum, Omega handles a proper dry rest well and actually
benefits from it once it's past the first year.
