Adenium Seed germination for June in the Gulf States
Gulf Coast (FL, AL, LA, MS)
Heat is never the limiting factor on the Gulf Coast — Cocoa Beach, Fort Myers, and Biloxi are all running 87–95°F this week. Rain is the problem. Cocoa Beach saw an 80% rain chance Saturday with storms continuing through the week; Fort Myers is showing 40–65% rain chances on most days; Biloxi has thunderstorms in the forecast more days than not.
That combination of heat and humidity is the most favorable environment there is for fungal pressure and damping-off. Keep germination trays indoors or under a covered bench rather than exposed outdoors. This is the region where Desert Oasis Germination Media's drainage formulation matters most — ambient humidity alone keeps surface media damp between waterings here, and media that doesn't drain well will rot a tray of fresh seed before it has a chance to sprout. Check trays daily for early signs of collapse at the soil line, and don't wait for a problem to become obvious before pulling back on watering frequency.
